Giggle.Tips founder Tobias Schrott and co-founder Lena Luxner are not even 30 yet, but have managed to wake up the hotel industry from a slumber of more than 2 decades. For this they were honored yesterday with the Tyrolean Award.
With the help of an innovative experience platform, Giggle.Tips enables hoteliers to present their best hotel experiences on the hotel's own website and all guest touch points, and to sell them there as well.
A strong and initially little noticed side effect: Since vacationers specifically search for experiences, the corresponding hotel also moves higher and higher in the Google ranking. The result: more visibility, more direct bookings and more hotel rooms sold.
From the very beginning, Tobias and Lena were concerned with getting hotels out of the comparability.
By focusing on (hotel) experiences and the people behind the hotel facade, they emotionally pick up guests and show the true strengths of tourism: Passionate hosts who give their guests very special moments again and again. And so everyone benefits - guests and hoteliers.
The goal is to make experiences in and around the hotel tangible and visible and bookable for the world. And this new tool couldn't come on the market at a better time. People are tired of going with the flow and being a number. They are looking for individual experiences and sharing with like-minded people. Giggle.Tips helps them find just that.
Tobias has been familiar with tourism since he was a child.
Both parents are tourism experts and mother Diana Monnerjahn still supports the growing online company with her many years of consulting experience.
Tobias and Lena met at the Management Center Innsbruck. Tobias completed his Master's degree in International Business and Communications & IT here, and Lena her Bachelor's degree in International Business.
Digitization costs an enormous amount of money. Giggle.tips is lucky to have well-known investors like Daniel Swarovski, Superlyst Ventures (the co-founders of mydays.com) as well as another investor from London among its supporters.
And the success is impressive. Today, 1000 hospitality partners with over 50.000 experiences (status August 2023) already belong to the Giggle community, including many big hotel names.
Giggle.'ps still has a lot of plans. The next steps will be towards the international stage, but yesterday the Giggle team first celebrated its award in the category "Tourism and Regional Word Creation" at the Hofburg Innsbruck.
